Sofia in January 2022 joined the Office of Ethics and Accountability in UNIDO as an intern for six months. She completed her Master’s degree in Law in Italy at the University of Florence graduating with the highest honors. She also attended an LL.M. Program at Cornell University in the U.S.A. Her professional career started in a law firm where she worked as a trainee lawyer for two years. Sofia also worked as a research assistant at Cornell University and she conducted research on the ownership of groundwater in different countries, she worked on a variety of international and comparative law projects related to gender justice and she carried on a project aimed at creating a comparative Evidence Law Manual, which will serve to assist judiciaries in the East African and SADC region. She is very passionate about international law and human rights.
