Senior Energy Adviser, Humanitarian Energy Lead, Practical Action
Sarah is the Head of Humanitarian Energy for Practical Action and leads humanitarian energy work across several countries including Rwanda, Kenya, Burkina Faso, Jordan, and Nepal. Sarah has over 12 years’ experience as an energy professional, focusing on: renewable energy technologies, energy access, development and humanitarian policy – including climate change, disaster risk response, resilience, preparedness, and social protection for marginalised communities. Sarah has lived and worked in Kenya, Tanzania, Bangladesh, India, Germany and The Netherlands. Before joining Practical Action, Sarah worked in the UK Department for International Development as a climate change and energy adviser. She has also worked for Imperial College London, the Climate Policy Initiative, and the University of Cambridge.
