Kelsy Green is currently pursuing a PhD in Nuclear Engineering at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, where she is studying radiation effects on materials for advanced fission and fusion nuclear reactors. She is passionate about the roles that low-carbon renewable and nuclear energy sources will play in sustainable development, environmental stewardship, and in improving the lives of people globally. In her role as the Climate Change Project Chair for the International Youth Nuclear Congress, Kelsy works with global organizations such as the NICE Future Initiative to promote the harmonious uses of low-carbon sources to meet the world’s growing energy demands in a sustainable fashion. Kelsy is originally from Sacramento, California, and received her BS in Nuclear Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2017. She enjoys hiking, scuba diving, and travelling.
