As a Sustainable Development Expert on Energy at the United Nations Department for Economic and Social Affairs, Martin coordinates the work of the UN-Energy Secretariat. Previously, he worked as Programme Officer in Office of the Director-General of the International Renewable Energy Agency in Abu Dhabi; as Economic Affairs Officer in the Energy Division of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific in Bangkok; and as Country Action Officer at Sustainable Energy for All in Vienna.
Martin holds a PhD in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Affairs and a MA in International Politics with Distinction from Queen’s University Belfast.
