Graduated in journalism and international relations, Igor Barát worked for more than 12 years as a reporter and head of foreign news desk in public Slovak Television in Bratislava.
In 2003 he joined the National Bank of Slovakia as a spokesperson, later on appointed by the Slovak government the Plenipotentiary for the Introduction of the Euro in Slovakia. Between 2009 and 2015, he worked in private bank Poštová banka as a member of the Board of Directors and later of the Supervisory Board.
In 2015 he was appointed director of the newly open European Regional Office of the International Investment Bank in Bratislava, responsible for developing business relations and promoting the bank´s activities in the region of Central and Eastern Europe.
