Hon’ble State Minister, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of Bangladesh
Arch. Yeafesh Osman was born in Chittagong on May 1, 1946. He is the Son of prominent litterateur Shawkat Osman. He graduated in Architecture from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology. He started his professional career as an Architect at the Housing & Settlement Department of Bangladesh. In 1970, Mr. Osman was the Vice President of the Engineering University Central Student’s Union. Afterwards, he became the Science and Technology Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League. Arch. Yeafesh Osman was a valiant Freedom Fighter during the Liberation War of Bangladesh.
He is the Founding General Secretary of the Institute of Architects of Bangladesh. Arch. Yeafesh Osman became the State Minister for Science and ICT in 2009. He is presently in charge of the Ministry of Science and Technology as a State Minister. The State Minister is also a renowned poet. Some of his published books are “Bongo Amar Janani Amar”, “Noshto Kal Koshto Kal” and “Nay Manus Koi Manus”.
Mr. Osman has one son, a computer Engineer living in Australia.
